Dr. Aaron Swanson DPT, CSCS, FMS, TPI, FRR
Aaron grew up spending most of his time running around outside and playing sports. His love for basketball, tennis, lacrosse, and weightlifting led him to pursue a degree in Exercise Science at the University of Tennessee.
While at the University of Tennessee, Aaron was fortunate to be mentored by Jenny Moshak as a Student Athletic Trainer for the Lady Vols. When he wasn’t minoring in College Football Spectating or enjoying the Knoxville lifestyle, he was learning how to best rehab athletes from injuries. In working with an innovative sports medicine team that included a highly integrated approach, he saw athletes return to their sports not only sooner than expected, but also in better shape than they were before the injury.
After graduating from UT, Aaron pursued his Doctor of Physical Therapy at New York University. Here in NYC Aaron was trained in a renowned educational environment and exposed to some of the greatest Physical Therapy practices in the world.
After receiving his doctorate degree, Aaron remained in NYC working in private out-patient orthopedic clinics in Manhattan. During this time he worked with many elite runners, triathletes, crossfitters, olympic lifters, and other athletes. He also refined his ability to bring this high level of rehab to the normal population of people that don’t spend the majority of their time training.
In this high-demand environment, Aaron was able to succeed in resolving injuries and improving performance in many different types of individuals.
Throughout his career Aaron has been an avid writer. He maintains a professional website, has published articles on many different websites, and even been selected as a content reviewer for biomechanic sections of healthcare books.
When Aaron is not in the clinic he enjoys playing guitar, reading, craft beer, yoga, kettlebells, bodyweight training, and running around with his crazy dog, Rigby.
