Dr. Gaelyn Rogers, DPT, OCS, CSCS, FMS, FMT
Gaelyn is an orthopedic physical therapist and trainer with a passion for movement and the human body. She grew up bouncing off the walls, trampolines and sofas and continues to bring that levity to her professional practice. She is a board certified orthopedic specialist from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties as well as a certified strength and conditioning specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
She utilizes a creative and holistic approach to rehabilitation through manual therapy, corrective exercise, functional strength training, neuro-based exercise, breathing and movement pattern re-education. She feels that rehab should be a personal (and fun!) experience that should be available to everyone from the power lifter to the yogi to someone just looking to walk across the street without pain.
Gaelyn has certifications in SFMA (Selective Functional Movement Assessment), FMS (Functional Movement Screen), and RockTape Functional Movement Taping (FMT). Her training includes ART (Active Release Technique) of the lower extremity and Postural Restoration Institute methods.
Gaelyn grew up in NYC and Connecticut. She is an avid athlete, playing volleyball, basketball and softball throughout high school. She attended the University of Delaware where she pursued her passion for the science (and art) of the human body, majoring in Biology and Psychology with an emphasis in Neuroscience. There, she continued to play volleyball and discovered her life long passion for running and yoga.
Upon graduating UD, she decided to channel her love of physiology into PT school at New York University. Gaelyn graduated from NYU with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2010. She spent the next 6 years living and working in private outpatient clinics in Manhattan.
Gaelyn has recently moved Asheville, where she and her husband and their rambunctious dog, Rigby, enjoy yoga, hiking, biking, running, swimming, tennis and really anything else that involves playing outside. Gaelyn is also an animal lover, an avid reader, a foodie, and a beer, music and movie enthusiast.
